Fees

Principle

The principles governing lawyers’ fees and rates are set out in the Federal Act on the Free Movement of Lawyers (LLCA) and the Swiss Code of Conduct.

In accordance with the law, fees and rates are determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account primarily the time spent on the mandate, as well as the complexity and urgency of the matter, the importance of the interests at stake, the outcome achieved and the lawyer’s experience.

Fees are discussed transparently during the initial consultation.

Retainers are requested at the start of a case, and statements of fees and expenses are issued at the conclusion or at regular intervals for ongoing mandates. VAT (currently 8.1%) is added in accordance with Swiss tax law.

Initial consultation

The firm’s lawyers offer individuals, particularly employees and insured persons, a 45-minute consultation in their areas of specialisation at a preferential rate of CHF 200, including VAT. Payment is made directly on site in cash, and no file is opened for this consultation.

This initial meeting allows clients to quickly obtain expert advice from a specialist on matters such as the scope of a contractual clause, the implications of an insurance company’s decision or the potential success, risks and costs of legal proceedings following dismissal.
